Who we are

The Design Gorilla is an independent design studio based in Scotland. For anything about your personal data, email mike@thedesigngorilla.co.uk.

What we collect

When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address and message, plus anything else you choose to give us: telephone number, website, project type and budget.

Why we use it

Only to reply to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to deliver that project. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (answering your message) or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 12 months unless we go on to work together, in which case we keep project records for as long as we need them for accounting and legal reasons.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your details. Messages are stored with our website host and delivered to our email provider, who process them on our behalf. If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes information about your visit (see below).

Cookies

We don't use advertising cookies. Our fonts and scripts are hosted on our own server.

Analytics: if you choose "Accept" on the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site — for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are in the world. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with _ga, which last up to two years. If you choose "Reject", Google Analytics isn't loaded at all. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again. The only other cookie is a strictly necessary login cookie for our own admin area, which visitors never receive.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email mike@thedesigngorilla.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
